Littleton Police Officer Stephen Keliiholokai retired from the department after 22 years, according to a news release.
Keliiholokai served on the Littleton Police Department’s SWAT team for more than 10 years, in addition to assignments on the patrol and traffic teams. He achieved the highest level of accident investigation certification, and served as a LIDAR instructor and defensive tactics and firearms instructor.
Keliiholokai joined the Army in 1981, serving in the Military Police Corps. He later began his civilian law enforcement career with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in 1989. He began his career with Littleton Police in 1999.
Keliiholokai was “an experienced officer with a booming voice and kind heart,” the news release reads in part. “Keliiholokai was always happy to lend his ear to a fellow officer for assistance on a call, or to chat about life at home.”
“Overall, it’s been a good run, I made some lifelong friends, and I have worked with some incredible individuals that I will never forget,” Keliiholokai said in a statement. “I’m so impressed with our young and upcoming officers! After all of this, my most cherished accomplishment in my life is with my beautiful wife, Carol. We have raised three of the most beautiful, independent, successful young ladies: our daughters Toya, Stephanie, and Andrea.”
The couple are building a home in Baja California Sur and plan to return to Colorado often to visit their grandchildren.
